Carriage House: A Review of Poetry
Carriage House: A Review of Poetry seeks work for its first collection, to be printed in 2012. We are looking for poetry about the South Carolina Lowcountry, poetry of a Southern aesthetic, and quality work, in that order. Preference will be given to work from or about the Lowcountry, though our main criterion for any accepted work is quality. If you're not sure if your work meets these requirements, submit it anyway.
Submissions: Currently we are accepting electronic submissions only. Submissions can be made to poetry@eveningpostbooks.com. Please include submissions as an attachment, with your name and contact information on the first page. A cover letter is not necessary, but welcomed with a brief bio including previous publications. You may submit up to five poems, but we ask that you please wait to submit another set of poems until you have heard back on the first submission. Please allow 2-4 weeks for reply in case we're backlogged.
Payment: Upon acceptance Carriage House acquires first North American rights. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable as long as you inform us that the poem is being reviewed elsewhere, as soon as it is accepted. Currently we cannot offer contributor copies of the book as payment. Authors will receive a 40 percent discount on any purchases they choose to make of the book.
