About the Author

Cedric Jaggers grew up in Tennessee and minored in Journalism in college. He was drafted out of graduate school at the University of Tennessee and spent 2 years in the army, 1 of them in Korea. He completed his Masters of Public Administration at the University of Memphis and made a career working for and retired from the Social Security Administration in 2009, after working in Memphis, Atlanta, Charleston and Rock Hill. He started writing for RACING SOUTH magazine in 1980 and In 1984 for CAROLINA RUNNER magazine, which later became RUNNING JOURNAL. He edited the LOW COUNTRY RUNNER, newsletter of the Charleston Running Club during the 1980s, and is now editing the Rock Hill Striders newsletter. In 1992 he was elected to the South Carolina Road Runners Hall of Fame and to the Cooper River Bridge Run Hall of Fame in 2002. Cedric and his wife Kathy now reside in Rock Hill, SC along with their 4 Siamese cats.
